House History Workshop – Resources and Tools

This workshop is free but a donation to support the work of Historic Takoma is requested.

The workshop will cover the resources and tools available to research house histories. We will focus on property records but will also touch on other sources such as census records and newspaper archives to learn more about prior owners and their families. The workshop will focus on Maryland properties. If you would like to research DC properties, let us know in advance. 

Following a demonstration on property research, participants will have the opportunity to do their own work with assistance from the workshop leader.

NOTE: Participants should sign up for a free account at MDLANDREC.net and bring a laptop to the workshop.
