The name of the specific collection is to be included when known. (For example, \u201cJohn Jones Collection, Historic Takoma Archives.\u201d)<\/li><li>Citations for photographs and images must include the name of the photographer (if known) along with \u201cHistoric Takoma Archives\u201d and the appropriate collection as the source. (For example, \u201cCredit: Margaret Jones; John Jones Collection, Historic Takoma Archives. \u201d)<\/li><li>Additional citation information may be found in the PastPerfect Catalog records for materials in the Archives.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-color wp-block-heading\" style=\"color:#015039\">Use of Materials &amp; Images<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Users may freely use materials from the Archives for personal and noncommercial educational purposes, such as teaching, scholarship, research, criticism, commentary, and news reporting. Unless otherwise noted, users who wish to download or print text and image files from the Historic Takoma website or archives for such uses are welcome to do so without Historic Takoma\u2019s express permission. Users must cite the author and source of this material as they would material from any other creative work. No materials may be re-published in any form without express written permission from Historic Takoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Archives materials not already in digital format may be scanned by users visiting the Archives. Users may bring a scanner or request a limited amount to be scanned by Historic Takoma.&nbsp; Historic Takoma typically does not make hard copies of Archives materials.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Requests for commercial use of&nbsp; Historic Takoma Archives materials and requests for copies of materials require submission of a <em>Request for Digital Reproductions and Permission to Publish<\/em>, which is available on the Historic Takoma website or by writing to <a href=\"mailto:Archives@historictakoma.org\">Archives@historictakoma.org<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Historic Takoma will prepare a <em>Publication\/Use Agreement<\/em> outlining the materials to be licensed, the use of the materials, conditions associated with the use, and payment of any fees. Upon signature of the agreement by the user, Historic Takoma will provide the requested materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Permission is provided for one-time use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Historic Takoma\u2019s goal is to process requests within 10 business days of receipt.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Historic Takoma may charge fees for processing and handling. These fees must be paid prior to providing the materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-color wp-block-heading\" style=\"color:#015039\">Fees<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>As a general policy, Historic Takoma provides images at no cost for personal use (including personal blogs and websites), educational use, and non-profit or community organization use. Historic Takoma reserves the right to charge nominal fees for finding and scanning images when digital versions do not already exist or when a substantial number of images is&nbsp; requested. Historic Takoma may charge fees for providing materials for commercial use or for special requests for hard copies of materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fees generally will be charged for images to be used for commercial use (books, magazines, advertising, posters, cards, etc.) as set forth in the Fee Schedule. Historic Takoma may charge additional processing and handling fees depending on the resolution required, resources needed to find and provide the requested items, and the nature of the use. Fees for these services will be $25\/hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Historic Takoma may waive or reduce fees if determined appropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-color wp-block-heading\" style=\"color:#015039\">Fee Schedule<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp; Reproduction of individual items for <em>commercial <\/em>publication or use &#8211; $50.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A fee is charged for each publication, document, image, video, film, or other item to be used for publication in printed material.&nbsp; Fees for larger orders will be assessed on a case by case basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp; Reproduction of individual items in a <em>scholarly journal, university press<\/em> <em>or similar publication<\/em> &#8211; $5.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A fee is charged for each publication, document, image, video, film, or other item to be used for publication in printed material.&nbsp; Fees for larger orders will be assessed on a case by case basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. &nbsp;&nbsp;Personal use (including personal blogs and websites), educational use, and non-profit or community organization use &#8211; No charge<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Processing and handling fees may&nbsp; be charged for large or complex requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All fees are to be paid in advance and are not refundable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-color wp-block-heading\" style=\"color:#015039\">Copyright<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Users assume all responsibility for compliance with copyright requirements. Historic Takoma does not claim to hold&nbsp; copyright on collection originals unless such copyright has been transferred to Historic Takoma.
